[KES Construction Method Example] Commercial Facility 'ITOYA Aramachi Lounge'
Introducing a construction case of a "cafe" using the KES method of joint hardware in wooden architecture.
We would like to introduce a case study of the "KES Construction Method," which utilizes unique joining hardware in wooden architecture. The original concept was a café consisting of several small buildings that relate to each other while maintaining their spacing. Considering the operations and the winter climate of Niigata, the final design resulted in a partially integrated shape of the buildings, but the concept has not strayed from the original idea. How a single building, by standing in its location, envelops the surrounding environment and continues to be cherished while being utilized... This architecture approaches true completion alongside the growth of the trees that surround the café. 【Case Study】 <ITOYA Aramachi Lounge> ■Location: Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture ■Site Area: 988.00 m² ■Total Floor Area: 143.09 m² ■Building Area: 144.99 m² ■Number of Floors: 2 above ground ■Winner of the Wood Design Award 2017 *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
